Frequently Asked Questions

We take the safety and well-being of our clients very seriously. That is why we ensure that every member of our staff undergoes a thorough screening process, including a vulnerable sector check, before they are hired. We also verify that their checks are valid and up-to-date on a regular basis. You can rest assured that our staff are qualified and trustworthy professionals who are committed to providing quality service.

HBC Respite services offer your child the opportunity to interact with other children in a variety of activities that foster social skills. Our Respite therapist will ensure that the activities are suitable for your child’s needs and preferences, and that they create a positive and supportive atmosphere. Some examples of these activities are board games or other non-electronic games that are fun and engaging. Our therapist do not provide any electronics, but the children can bring their own if they wish.

If you are interested in HBC Respite, you can register online by completing the form on this page. Alternatively, you can contact us at info@horizonsbehaviourconsulting.com and we will be happy to send you the Registration Form and answer any questions you may have.

We offer Respite services on Fridays and Saturdays for children with different age groups. On Fridays, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, we welcome children who are 9 to 13 years old. On Saturdays, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, we cater to children who are 4 to 8 years old.

We will offer some refreshments during the event, but we kindly ask the participants to bring their own food and hygiene items if they have any special preferences or needs.

Once you complete the registration process, our staff will contact you by phone for a brief intake session. During this session, our therapists will ask you some additional questions based on the Registration form to make sure we have enough information about your child’s needs and preferences. This will help us create the most suitable environment for your child when they receive Respite Services.

We offer two options for Respite services for your child. Package 1 is $450 and includes four therapy sessions in a row. Package 2 is $825 and includes eight therapy sessions in a row.

We understand that sometimes you may have to cancel a Respite Session due to unforeseen circumstances. In that case, we offer you the option to reschedule 1 session without any penalty for Package 1, and reschedule 2 session without any penalty for Package 2, as long as you inform us at least 7 days in advance.

Respite Sessions last for at least 3 hours.

Our respite staff come from diverse backgrounds and qualifications. They have experience in fields such as Direct Support Work (DSW), Early Childhood Education (ECE), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and more. They also receive comprehensive training from our Behaviour specialist to ensure quality service delivery.
